Carter Drum Twisters

Carter offer spare parts, consumables and full refurbishment services for the Carter range of drum twisting machines for telephone cables.

Drum twister take up units consist of a balanced rotor supported by a spherical roller bearing housed in a pedestal containing the drive, and by either one or two pairs of non-metallic under-rollers dependent on duty.  The take-up drum is cantilever supported on pintles and is driven by a DC drive system.

Assisted drum loading facilities are incorporated and automatic indexing of rotor is provided.  Modular conceptions are embodied in the unit.
